Renewing Your Passport
If your most recent passport was issued less than 15 years ago, and that passport was issued after you turned 16 years old
Please follow the instructions on this page if:
• you are age 18 or over, and
• your most recent U.S. passport was issued less than 15 years ago and after your 16th birthday, and
• you can submit your most recent passport with your application, and
• your most recent passport was issued for its full ten-year validity, and
• you are not requesting any change in your identifying data in the passport, with the exception of changing your name due to marriage
If your circumstances do not meet all of the requirements above, then please follow these links for instructions:
• If you cannot submit your most recent passport
• If you need to change your name for reasons other than marriage

Application Procedures
You will be required to appear in person at the Embassy. You must schedule an appointment. Please see the Key Information box on the right-hand side of the screen for full contact information for the Embassy.
Please allow three to four weeks to process your passport application.
What to bring with you:
Please bring to the Embassy to renew your passport or passport card:
• completed Passport Application Form DS-82
• two valid passport photographs
• your most recent U.S. passport
• if you have changed your name by marriage since the last passport was issued, then please provide your original marriage certificate.
• the fee of US$75, payable in either dollars or Euros, cash only
We will make photocopies and return your original documents to you when you apply for your U.S. passport.
