Ambassador Moore To Visit Berane and Bijelo Polje
On Friday November 14, U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro, Roderick W. Moore will join a representative of DoMEn -- the local partner of the American company GoDaddy -- who will donate 15 computers to the Mahmut Adrovic elementary school in Berane and 14 computers to the Aleksa Beco Dilas elementary school in Bijelo Polje. As part of their contract with the Government of Montenegro, GoDaddy and DoMEn have agreed to spend at least 50,000 Euros annually for five years on ICT (information and communication technology) development in Montenegro. The donation of the computers to these two schools marks the first step in this effort.
During his trip the Ambassador also will visit Mahmut Adrovic’s Satellite school Lagatori, which the U.S. Embassy recently helped refurbish through a United States European Command (EUCOM) humanitarian assistance project.
The Ambassador also will donate books on environmental protection at the Mahmut Adrovic elementary school in Berane. The "Saznaj, Zavoli, Sacuvaj" books for primary school children are published by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED). The U.S. Embassy in Podgorica funded the printing of over 4,000 books through its Democracy Commission program.
Journalists interested in covering the computer donation events should be at Mahmut Adrovic school in Berane at 1045 and at Aleksa Beco Djilas school in Bijelo Polje at 1315 on Friday, November 14.
