Management Officer
David Korponai has been employed by the USAID as a Personal Services Contractor since January 1991 where is started as a resident hire USPSC in La Paz, Bolivia. Prior to coming to Podgorica his assignments included: USAID/La Paz where he served as the Supervisory General Services Officer (GSO) and later as the Deputy Executive Officer (D/EXO); USAID/Cairo where he served as the Supervisory GSO; USAID/Almaty where he served as the Executive Officer; and, USAID/Kiev where he served as the D/EXO. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1964 with a BS in Education and earned his MBM from LaSalle University in 1993.
Dave is retired from the U.S. Army Reserves in the rank of Major. While on active duty his overseas assignments included Germany, Vietnam, Bolivia and a second tour in Vietnam. While working in the private sector his most notable positions held were the Administrative/Financial manager for a 65.0 million USD highway project (La Paz-Cotapata, Bolivia) being constructed by the S.J.Groves & Sons Company an American company based in Minneapolis, MN and later as the South American Representative for the R.A. Hanson Company (RaHCO), also an American company based in Spokane, WA. RaHCO was involved in mining and equipment sales in Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Brazil. Dave has spent nearly 35 working overseas while in the military, the private sector and with USAID.
Since USAID is the alternate service provider under ICASS, Dave provides oversight and management of the ICASS program in Podgorica. In addition he provides EXO guidance to the USAID/Podgorica staff and carries out duties of a DOS Management Officer.
