July 12, 2005
On Thursday, July 14, U.S. Consulate Podgorica’s Principal Officer Hoyt Yee, Mayor of Bijelo Polje, Tarzan Milosevic, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) representative, Vladan Raznatovic, and CHF Pljevlja Manager, Igor Golubovic will turn on the newly constructed streetlights of Bijelo Polje.
The project was funded by the American people through USAID via the Community Revitalization through Democratic Action (CRDA) program and implemented by CHF International. The total value of the project is €278,410, of which USAID provided 41% and the Municipality of Bijelo Polje 59%.
The project will result in safer traffic conditions for pedestrians and vehicles in Bijelo Polje, reducing the potential for traffic accidents at night, while less congestion will improve the physical appearance of the city. The project resulted in the installation of underground electricity supply cables for 172 steel light posts and an asphalt roadway with concrete sidewalks.
Journalists interested in covering the ceremony should be in front of the Kisjele vode
restaurant in Bijelo Polje, no later than 18:45, on July 14.
