On Monday, May 15, U.S. Consulate Podgorica's Principal Officer Arlene Ferrill, Minister of Justice Zeljko Sturanovic, and President of the Commercial Court in Podgorica Dragan Rakocevic will officially open the renovated premises of the Podgorica Commercial Court Central Registry.
The renovation of the Commercial Court Central Registry was funded by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The renovation is part of the Montenegro Judicial Reform Project (MJRP) implemented by Checchi and Company Consulting Inc. The United States invested over $45,000 into the renovation of the premises.
The Commercial Court of Podgorica is the one of the busiest courts in Montenegro and its operation is directly connected to the growth of private enterprises and a strong market economy. The Commercial Court Central Registry is often the first “link” or contact between the business sector and the legal system and its work and proper functioning is crucial to the overall image of the Montenegrin judiciary.
Journalists interested in covering the event should be at the Central Registry of Commercial Court in Podgorica, Vaka Djurovica bb, no later than 10:45 on Monday, May 15.
