Renewing Your Passport
If your most recent passport was issued more than 15 years ago
Please follow the instructions on this page if:
• you are age 18 or over, and
• your most recent U.S. passport was issued more than 15 years ago, and
• you can submit your most recent passport with your application
Application Procedures
You will be required to appear in person at the Embassy. You must schedule an appointment. Please see the Key Information box on the right-hand side of the screen for full contact information for the Embassy.
Please allow three to four weeks to process your passport application.
What to bring with you:
Please bring the following with you to the Embassy to apply for your passport or passport card:
• completed Passport Application Form DS-11
• two valid passport photographs
• your most recent U.S. passport
• additional proof of identity (see below)
• the fee of US$100, payable in either dollars or Euros, cash only
Additional proof of identity, such as:
• a valid passport of any country; or
• a valid driver's license with photograph; or
• a valid national identity card with photograph; or
• a valid U.S. or State government ID card; or
• a valid U.S. military ID card.
We will make photocopies and return your original documents to you when you apply for your U.S. passport.
If your name has changed since your most recent passport was issued, then please also follow the additional instructions at the Change of Name link.
