Consular Officer Corey Gonzales

Corey Gonzalez is currently assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro as the Consular Officer, responsible for managing American citizen services and non-immigrant visa services in the country.
Mr. Gonzalez first joined the Department of State in 2006 and was immediately assigned to the Office of Iraqi Political Affairs, where he worked on European Union and Middle East engagement with Iraq.  He then served as a Political Officer in Baghdad, Iraq, for a year, working on national reconciliation and the Iraqi legislative process.

Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Gonzalez studied mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park, with a concentration of algebraic topology
