David Muniz


David Muniz is currently assigned as the Head of the Political/Economic Section in the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro, which became independent in June 2006.  His previous assignment was in Kosovo from 2007 until 2009.  In this capacity, he was responsible for U.S. relations with Kosovo’s non-Albanian communities and also dealt with issues related to cultural heritage and property claims.  
In previous overseas assignments between 2001 and 2007, he served as an Economic and Consular Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and prior to that as the Management Office in the U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
Mr. Muniz has a Bachelors degree from James Madison University in Virginia and a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Georgia (1999).
He is married to Oksana Vladislavovna Muniz.
