U.S. Speaker Discusses Economic Development, Job Creation

Franklin "Chip" Wells, Director of the Employment and Training Program of the City of Minneapolis participated in a Consulate-sponsored speaker program consisting of a series of seminars, presentations and consultations on local economic development and job creation in Montenegro from October 3-7.
Over 80 Montenegrin government/municipality officials, representatives of the central and regional employment offices, private businesses and their associations participated in the program. The speaker shared U.S. experiences in the field of job creation, additional training programs for the unemployed and employed, highlighting their importance for local economic development. The program presented some successful models of planning and conducting employment programs in a city whose size corresponds to Montenegro's. It also showed best practices of managing economic development at local and state levels.
