U.S. Consulate Supports Education Projects

Under the auspices of the Regional School Connectivity Project run by Catholic Relief Services through a U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs grant the final "School Connectivity" celebration was organized in Risan on June 17, in order to bring a successful implementation of a 3 year project activities in Montenegro to its end, The School Connectivity Project has been an innovative education project that connects through the internet U.S. high schools with secondary schools in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro. Students from these schools have been participating through internet sites and discussion forums in joint projects related to the use of IT in teaching process, constructive communication, conflict resolution and active learning. Approximately more than 250 students and teachers from eight Montenegrin high schools have participated in the project that officially ends on June 30, 2005.
