In case of an emergency involving an American citizen, please call 011-382-20-410-500 from the United States or +382-20-410-500 from anywhere in Europe. You may also contact us via e-mail at PodgoricaACS@state.gov, being sure to include the word "emergency" in your subject heading. You should also include a brief description of the situation and a phone number where you can be reached. Our Embassy monitors e-mail messages sent to PodgoricaACS@state.gov from 0830 to 1700 Montenegrin local time, except for U.S. and Montenegrin holidays.
The Embassy can assist when U.S. citizens in Montenegro are arrested, are missing, are victims of a violent crime, become ill, die, or where there is otherwise a need for immediate help. One of our most important roles is to keep family members in the United States apprised of the circumstances, so that they can make necessary decisions about their loved ones and provide financial support.
If you would like to obtain information about how we can assist on specific situations, please refer to the menu that appears on the left side of the screen.
