United States Supports Emergency Reaction Capacity

On Wednesday February 8, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro Michael C. Polt will formally transfer emergency response vehicles and medical supplies worth over 334,000 dollars to the Government of Montenegro, represented by Montenegrin Minister of Health Dr. Miodrag Pavlicic.
The United States expresses its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the tragic train accident in Bioce, Montenegro. Our thoughts and prayers are still with them as they mourn their loss.
This donation is a direct response to the train tragedy and is funded by the American people through the U.S. Embassy's Bilateral Assistance Office of the U.S. Department of Defense and implemented by the Humanitarian Assistance Branch of U.S. European Command (EUCOM). The donation includes 5 emergency and rescue vehicles and various other search, rescue, and life-saving equipment valued at over $334,000. These vehicles and equipment will enhance Montenegro's capacity to react to future emergency situations and natural disasters.
