Honey Producers Reach a "Sweet" Business Deal with the Hotel Industry.

As part of his visit to Pljevlja Municipality, U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro, Roderick W. Moore attended a business transaction between the President of the Beekeepers Association Zoran Zoric and the Manager of the Hotel Mediteran Jim Costa on July 23.

The Matica Beekeepers Association of Pljevlja, who has received support through the USAID managed Community Revitalization through Democratic Action (CRDA-E) program, will sell single serve honey packages for summer tourists staying at Hotel Mediteran in Ulcinj.

Ambassador Moore has long encouraged an increase in commercial ties between regions to seize the opportunity of a growing market along the coast and to address the development gap between northern and southern Montenegro.  For this reason the Ambassador recognized the significance of this transaction and encouraged other coastal business to seek out northern products. Strengthening inter-regional business will be the central focus of an upcoming 3-year USAID project worth 10-15 million dollars starting later this year.
