Montenegrin Border Police takes over the donated equipment for border surveillance

On Thursday, 18 April, Montenegrin Border Police took over a 250 thousand US dollars worth of equipment for border surveillance, donated by the United States of America through the Department of State and its Export Control and Related Border Security Program (EXBS). The equipment includes remote monitoring systems, thermal imagers, GPS and other related devices. It will assist the Border Police with implementing an improved strategic trade control system. The goal is to make Montenegro a safe and secure trading partner that meets international standards for trade and border controls.

The EXBS program is the United States Government's premier initiative to help other countries improve their export control systems. The EXBS program is a U.S. Government interagency program, managed by the Department of State's Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, designed to help prevent proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), their missile delivery systems, conventional weapons, and related items by assisting foreign governments to establish and implement effective export control systems that meet international standards.”
