Ambassador Brown Speaks at Government Communication Conference

On September 14, Ambassador Brown, together with Montenegro’s Prime Minister Igor Luksic, opened the first South Eastern European Government Communications Conference (SEECOM) in Budva, Montenegro. The conference which gathered over 60 government communicators, experts and officials from the South East Europe, EU and the U.S. was organized by the Government of Montenegro Press Bureau, UNDP and Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and supported by the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica.
Ambassador Brown praised the idea of organizing this forum to promote transparency and openness in government. “Your job is not always easy, but the results are clear: when Government communicators are empowered to do their jobs, society benefits,” the Ambassador said in her opening remarks.
At the conclusion of the conference, the participants signed a declaration to affirm their commitment to democratic values, regional cooperation, and good neighborly relations within the region.
