United States Funds Construction of Town Market in Gusinje

On Thursday December 6, U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Roderick W. Moore, Mayor of Plav Skender Sarkinovic, and Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branimir Vujacic will mark the completion of the newly constructed town market in Gusinje. The opening ceremony will be also attended by representatives of CHF International and FORS Montenegro.
The project is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Municipality of Plav through USAID's "Community Revitalization through Democratic Action - Economy (CRDA-E) Program, and implemented by CHF International in Montenegro. Total value of the project is $90,500. The United States has invested $42,500, the Municipality of Plav $36,500, and the Ministry of Agriculture the remaining $11,500.
USAID through CHF has implemented 36 projects within the CRDA and CRDA-E programs through June 2007 in Plav municipality. The total cost of all projects is $2 million. Out of that amount, USAID has contributed $1.1 million.
