U.S. Government Hosts Iftar Dinner

U.S. diplomatic representative in Montenegro Arlene Ferrill and USAID Serbia and Montenegro Head of Mission Keith Simmons hosted a private Iftar dinner in Podgorica on September 28. Guests included over 60 religious, cultural, business, and civic leaders of the Muslim community in Montenegro.
Daile newspapers "Vijesti," "Dan," and "Pobjeda" reported from the event citing Ms. Ferrill and Mr. Simmons. Reis of the Islamic community in Montenegro Rifat Fejzic is also quoted as saying that the "USG is a friend who helped to stop the wars in Bosnia and Kosovo."
A similar event was organized last year here for the first time during Ramadan.
