U.S. Consulate Celebrates Independence Day

On July 5, Ambassador Michael C. Polt and Mrs. Hallie Polt hosted a reception at the U.S. Consulate in Podgorica in celebration of the 229th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America.
Among the over 400 guests were Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Dragan Djurovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs Miodrag Vlahovic, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and European Integration Gordana Djurovic, Minister of Finance Igor Luksic and other members of the Government of Montenegro. The Ambassador also welcomed numerous representatives of Montenegro’s political, cultural, and public life and representatives of the diplomatic community in Podgorica.
In his remarks, Ambassador Polt highlighted the achievements of the "everyday heroes" that are moving Serbia and Montenegro forward, and presented David Kaljaj, Duska Daljev and Vesko Mijajlovic.
