University of Maine Provides Scholarship to a Graduate Student of the University of Montenegro


Daniel H. Sandweiss, Dean of the Graduate School, University of Maine, Eric F. Rolfson, Vice President for Development, University of Maine, and Captain Darrell Davis of the Maine National Guard met today, July 8th with Rector Predrag Miranovic and various officials from several faculties of the University of Montenegro. 

Dr. Sandweiss and Mr. Rolfson are visiting Montenegro as part of the State Partnership Program (SPP) between Montenegro and the U.S. state of Maine.  This partnership program was established in 2007 with a goal to develop an effective partnership and establish long-term relationships across all levels of society between Montenegro and Maine.  As representatives of the University of Maine, Dr. Sandweiss and Mr. Rolfson had the pleasure to announce at today’s meeting that the University of Maine will dedicate a graduate-level scholarship for a Montenegrin student who applies and is accepted to any graduate program of the University of Maine.  The value of this scholarship is $52,000 for the two-year program.
