Meet Marina
Economic Program Specialist
Where are you from?
I live in Podgorica since my early childhood, where I have completed education and I currently attend Doctoral Studies at Economic Faculty, University of Montenegro. I took my first steps in Kolasin, Northern Montenegro, where I like to go back for holidays.
What do you do for the Embassy?
I cover the position of Economic Program Specialist, dealing with economic issues and serving as a focal point for U.S. companies interested in doing business in Montenegro with Montenegrin companies.
So, how do you like working with your American colleagues (honestly)?
It is definitely a great experience for me! We have a small, but flexible and very dynamic team complementing each other at different tasks. I really appreciate their sincere interest in Montenegro and its development. In such environment each day new prospectives are opened to me. Indeed, I have great colleagues, I almost miss them on weekends!
What has been the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part of my work in the Embassy has been the communication with various US companies interested in doing business in Montenegro. It is really exciting when you assist them in identifying investment opportunities and then you follow their success! It is a win-win situation for both sides.
Have you ever travelled to the USA? If so, did you like it?
Yes, but unfortunately only once. I hope that in the future more partnerships between U.S. and Montenegrin companies would be develop, that sounds as an excellent excuse to go back!
