The U.S. Embassy Congratulates the Montenegrin Armed Forces

U.S. Embassy Podgorica congratulates the members of the Armed Forces of Montenegro on the occasion of Montenegro’s Armed Forces Day, October 7, 2012. 

The United States applauds the Montenegrin Armed Forces for their contribution to security in the Western Balkans region and beyond.  We are especially thankful for the partnership with NATO troops in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan.  Montenegrins serving in the ISAF mission have consistently received accolades for their exceptional performance.

NATO Allies formally acknowledged the significant political, economic, and defense reforms achieved by Montenegro in a statement issued at this year’s NATO Summit in Chicago.  The United States congratulates the Armed Forces of Montenegro on all that you have achieved.  We remain dedicated to supporting Montenegro’s reform efforts and will continue to assist Montenegro on its path toward Euro-Atlantic integration.
