U.S. Sponsors Anti-corruption Conference and Donates Equipment to Montenegrin Police

The United States Government is sponsoring a conference on "The Keys to Successful Anti-Corruption Cases" at Hotel Maestral, Przno, Montenegro on September 26-28. U.S. Ambassador Roderick W. Moore, State Prosecutor Vesna Medenica and Head of Police Veselin Veljovic will open the conference. The US Department of Justice, through the Office of Professional Development Assistance and Training (OPDAT) and International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) is organizing this event.

The purpose of the conference is to present and discuss key concepts and issues for both prosecutors and investigators in criminal investigations of public corruption. The conference will include prominent U.S. and Croatian experts, as well as Montenegrin officials, dealing with anti-corruption investigations and prosecutions.

Immediately following the opening of the Anti-Corruption Conference, the US representatives will present the assistance and equipment donated to the Montenegrin police. High officials from the US Embassy, Ministry of Interior and Police Directorate will attend this event. After their remarks, the officials will be available for journalists' questions.

Journalists interested in covering the opening of the anti-corruption conference should be at the Hotel Maestral in Przno no later than 08:40 on Wednesday, September 26. Those interested in reporting the police equipment delivery event should be at the Hotel Maestral in Przno no later than 09:10 on the same day.
