U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Colleen Graffy To Visit Montenegro May 14 and May 15

Colleen Graffy, the U.S. State Department's Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Diplomacy, in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, will visit Montenegro May 14-15. During the visit, Ms. Graffy will meet with Montenegrin government officials and representatives of the media, culture and civil society to exchange views about issues of importance for the development of U.S.-Montenegrin relations.

Colleen Graffy assumed her duties as Deputy Assistant Secretary in September 2005. Ms. Graffy oversees all public diplomacy and public affairs programs for all European countries (bio attached). This is her first visit to Montenegro.

Cameramen and photo-reporters interested in covering Ms. Graffy's meeting with Montenegro's Minister of Education and Sciences, Slobodan Backovic, should be at the Ministry of Education and Sciences in Podgorica no later than 12:00 on Monday, May 14.

Cameramen and photo-reporters interested in covering Ms. Graffy's meeting with Montenegro's Foreign Minister, Milan Rocen, should be at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Podgorica no later than 14:00 on Monday, May 14.

Journalists interested in covering the press availability with Deputy Assistant Secretary Graffy should be at the American Corner, Cultural-Informative Center "Budo Tomovic" in Podgorica no later than 14:40, on May 14. Ms. Graffy will talk about the role of a government press spokesperson then answer questions from the audience.

Journalists interested in covering a joint presentation of English dictionaries to all fourth graders in Montenegro should be at the Elementary School "Maksim Gorki" no later than 08:45 on Tuesday, May 15. Ms. Graffy, British Ambassador to Montenegro John Dyson, the Editorial Director of the Department for Publication of Textbooks and Teaching Aids Natasa Zivkovic as well as Natalija Elenskaia Kocovic, Longman's Publisher representative, will attend the event.

Journalists interested in covering Ms. Graffy's meeting with Mayor of Kotor, Marija Catovic, should be at the Municipality of Kotor building in Kotor no later than 14:30 on Tuesday, May 15.
