Embassy Organizes NATO Woodwind Sextet Tour in Montenegro

The U.S. Embassy in Podgorica is sponsoring a tour of the NATO Woodwind Sextet in Montenegro from April 16-20. During the visit, the group will perform a series of concerts throughout Montenegro and hold master classes in Montenegro's music high schools.

The NATO Woodwind Sextet is a chamber ensemble attached to the Allied Joint Forces Band from Naples, Italy. The Woodwind Sextet has an extensive repertoire of classical music as well as more popular tunes, from Mozart and Mahler to Thelonious Monk and Mancini. This ensemble successfully blends the individual sounds of the flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet and horn.

The schedule of the NATO Woodwind Sextet's concerts includes Podgorica on April16 (The Center for Music and Ballet "Vasa Pavic," at 19:30); Bijelo Polje, April 17 (Cultural Center, at 20:00); Tivat, April 18 (Hotel "Mimoza," at 19:00); Kotor, April 19 (Music School, at 12:00); and Niksic, April 20 (Music School, at 19:00). The master classes for students and professors of the high music schools from these towns will be held on the day of the concerts.
