Ambassador to Participate in Tološka Šuma Cleanup with the Office of the Mayor of Podgorica
July 21, 2005
On the occasion of Earth Day 2005, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro, Michael C. Polt, and the staff of the U.S. Consulate in Podgorica, will participate in the cleaning of Tološka Šuma in cooperation with the office of the Mayor of Podgorica. Ambassador Polt participated in a successful “Clean the River” campaign in September in Belgrade. He has invited the American community to join the citizens of Montenegro in a similar effort to help make Podgorica a more attractive place for its residents, citizens and potential investors.
Ambassador Polt and the Mayor of Podgorica, Miomir Mugoša, will participate in the ceremonies. The goal of the event is to focus attention on Earth Day, the importance of civic responsibility for the environment and for reaching Montenegro’s aspirations to be an “Ecological State.”
Journalists interested in covering the clean-up should be at the Tološka Šuma, near café-bar “Trim,” no later than 09:45 on Friday, April 22.
