Travel Information

The links below will give you a wealth of information about international travel in general, travel to Montenegro in particular, and returning to the United States.

Travel Insurance

The vast majority of Americans who travel to Montenegro never have any problems, but accidents can happen anywhere at any time.  While the Embassy can help in arranging medical evacuation back to the United States, the Embassy cannot pay for this service, which can easily cost $50,000 or more.

Travelers should consult with their health insurance providers to learn what is covered outside the United States and should consider purchasing additional travel insurance to cover the costs of medical evacuations, extended hospital care overseas, canceled flights, etc.  For more information, please see the State Department's website.
