Ambassador  Moore's Visit to Ulcinj

Ambassador Moore paid his first official visit to the southern-most city in Montenegro, Ulcinj, where he met with the Mayor and other local politicians. While there, he viewed the "Long Beach" and Ada Bojana, the next development sites to be privatized, from the sea.  The "Long Beach"  (Velika Plaža) is Europe's longest sand beach; its 13 kilometers are stunning in their natural state.  The Ambassador also viewed Native Americans training the local border guards in tracking and interception techniques. Ambassador Moore hosted a lunch for religious leaders  (Imam and Catholic Priest). The Ambassador also visited the hotel Mediteran, the only American investment in Ulcinj so far, where he spoke to manager Jim Costa and hosted a meeting with Ulcinj citizens.  The visit can be summarized by an impromptu event at lunch.  When two visiting U.S. contractors and an IVLP returnee learned that it was Ambassador Moore at the next table, they rose with an impromptu toast, "God bless America."   View Photo Gallery Here.
