United States Supports Montenegro's Wine Industry

On Thursday, February 2, U.S. Consulate Podgorica's Principal Officer Arlene Ferrill, Adviser to the Montenegrin Minister of Agriculture Marija Krstic, and the Head of the Republic Office for Vegetation Production Veselin Vuletić will officially open a three-day seminar entitled “The Basics of Wine Technology” for Montenegrin grape producers and wine-producers.
The seminar is funded by the American people through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by International Relief and Development (IRD) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. The seminar will be organized by the Republic Office for Vegetation Production.
Participants in the seminar will include producers and processors of grapes and those involved in wine technology. Lecture topics will address the preservation of geographic origin, preventing common mistakes in wine production, the study of wine making, and wine tasting.
The seminar is a part of broader support to agriculture and local economic development within the “Community Revitalization through Democratic Action-Economy program” (CRDA-E) financed by the American people through USAID.
